Clearwater Farms has farmed organically in the thumb of Michigan since the mid 90’s. We strive to produce high quality food and feed for the organic community.
One of our greatest challenges we have faced in over 25 years or organic production was consistent weed control methods. The best tool we have used to date is Treffler’s tine weeder. The results we have continually gotten are just short of amazing! The tine weeder has worked in dry and wet years alike. It’s easy to operate and very cost effective, one of the cheapest machines per acre to operate.
We have used the tine weeder in crops as a pre-emerge tool all the way to 12 inches tall. This tine weeder does a great job controlling both broad leaves and grasses post emergent. We have had great success in corn, dry beans, soy beans and even small grains. We have worked with many growers throughout the years and we haven’t seen a crop that the Treffler tine weeder isn’t highly effective in!
